saturday night i was home babysitting my seven year old neighbor, Caprice. some might think of babysitting as a boring task, not when it comes to this little one. she’s a little spit fire and i love her to death. we had quite an eventful evening. making cookie was the first adventure. sugar cookies to be exact. i measured, she mixed. once the dough was ready, we ate about a handful of it and put it in the fridge for later. i know what you’re thinking.. why would you ever give a seven year old sugar-cookie-dough. lets just say i like to live on the edge. the next adventure involved dancing around my kitchen with KISS 95.7 blasting, each of us with an obscure kitchen utensil as our microphones! she knew every word to almost every song. then. teenage dream by katy perry came on the radio.. and she went CARAZY. she knew every word. every dance move. everything about the song. it made me love her even more. onto the next and greatest adventure.. tie dying! starting her out young. she was a pro. i demonstrated how to do it, with my shirt first. and she insisted on doing hers all by herself.. so i let her do it. and let me just say, she did a fabulous job. after cleaning up the puddles of dye leftover from the shirts, i rolled out the dough. she used the halloween cookie-cutters and sprinkles i bought to make pumpkins, ghosts, spiders, cats. they were good enough to eat! finally our saturday night adventure ended with a seven year old halloween movie.. monster inc. her eyes finally closed about ten minutes before the end of the movie. and mine closed right after hers. i was exhausted. she was exhausted. but what an adventure we had had.

michael david alves.
my first love. we dated for nearly 2 years. september 24th, 2007 until august 24th, 2009. we were an incredible couple. we were best friends. which was the strength in our relationship. and he still remains one of my best friends, even if we don’t talk as much as we could.. i know i can rely on him with past and future experiences, troubles, anything. 2 years is a long time. we went through many ups and many downs. but in the long run, when looking back, i don’t regret anything. we both learned so much from that relationship, and i think that we helped each other figure out certain characteristics about ourselves that are now revealed today. i won’t ever forget him.

this is anna. she’s my best friend. she’s my girlie. she’s gorgeous.
we have been friends since my junior year of high school. 4 years. and everyday we grow closer and closer. it’s weird, this year i feel like we’ve grown so much closer, but she’s away at school. but i think because we are both older, and we both know that we are true friends to one another. we trust each other so much, that the distance doesn’t even matter. we are the original girlies. now until the end. we’ve planned literally our lives together as inseparable friends. and it’s just great to know that she is apart of my family, and i am apart of hers. we share a sisterly bond. as cliche as it is.. we will be best friends forever.

this weekend was full of family friends and food. and how wonderful each of those are. family. my little family. but let me tell you, we sound like there’s four times as many of us as there are! we’re loud italians, what can i say. i love the traditions my aunt, well great aunt, carries on from when she was a little girl. sunday dinner. yum. no matter how up and down your life may become, you can always rely on sunday dinner to be a constant. it will always remain. friends. anna. bestfriend. girlie. i couldn’t ask for a better bestfriend then the one i have. we know each other all too well. at times we may frighten people with how well we know one another. and of course the ‘girlie language’ as some put it. you’ll never understand it, so don’t try to. it’s something that distinguishes us as friends. it is what makes us girlies. now and forever. and last but certainly not least. food. mmm. we attended a garlic festival in bethlehem, connecticut. about an hour from where i live. the drive was beautiful. reds. oranges. yellows. real autumn. bliss. the food was incredible. fried pickles won my vote for the best! they were delicious. myself and anna shared everything. thats how adorable we are. we started eating when we arrived at the festival around 11AM, and didn’t stop eating until about 1AM. fried pickles. roasted garlic. fried ravioli. pulled pork. sweet potato fries. italian ice. cheese cake. a pillow (deluxe fried cheesecake). antipasto. lasagna. pumpkin seeds. what a day. what a weekend. what a great group of family friends and food.
until the day i die.
